Company Name Search - NUANS
A
Nuans (Newly Upgraded Automated Name Search) is a mandatory
submission to incorporate a company anywhere in Canada when
you are requesting a named corporation (e.g. ABCDEF Investments
Ltd.). The Nuans Report is a five page printout listing
the most similar corporations, business names and trade
marks to your proposed name. A preliminary name search is done
prior to ordering the NUANS report to search for business name
availability. This is done as a precautionary measure to see
if the name that you are requesting infringes on any businesses
already in existence throughout Canada. The listed price above
includes searching up to three names.
In Ontario
alone, there are almost 2 million corporations registered. This number
does not include the existing small businesses and trademarks that
have been established.
Providing
a name that is unique and distinctive to you and your line of business
is crucial. A corporate name should have a distinctive element
and a descriptive element to separate it from existing names.
Nuans
reports are valid for 90 days and are required for a named corporation
filing in any province or territory of Canada, including a Federal
Incorporation in accordance with the Corporations Act. With each
request, we will conduct preliminary name searches to determine if
the name is available before incurring the cost of the report. It
is ultimately the clients decision whether to proceed with
the name specified above. Discussions or comments that took place
by Ontario Business Central or its employees are not considered a
legal opinion, they are only to provide assistance in your name decision
process.
The
price of the NUANS includes 3 name searches. If your name choices
are not available you will not be charged for the report.
