Profile reports may be used for a variety of purposes, such as determining who owns a business or who the current directors of a corporation or Not For Profit Organization are, the registered address, how long the business has existed and business activity.  Often profile reports are requested by individuals involved in the business to ensure their business or corporate record is up-to-date, others seek this information to ensure they are contracting with a legitimate business and sometimes the documentation is used for civil litigation.

Profile reports are available within the provincial databases within  the jurisdiction where a business is incorporated or registered.  Some businesses incorporate federally and the information is listed with the federal government instead of a provincial one.

How Accurate is the Information?

The information is accurate as to the details provided the prior day.

If any changes occur such as an address change for the business, the owners, directors or officers of the business or activity of the business, it is the responsibility of the owners of the business to update information held with the provincial or federal corporate registry.   Often, updates do not happen although many provinces have now regulated mandatory updates such as Annual Returns for both profit and not for profit corporations with provincial and federal governments.   Corporations must now file  an Annual Return to provide any changes the corporation has had on its anniversary month of incorporation to maintain good standing within the home jurisdiction.

Can I search for an individual to find a business?

No, a corporation profile report does have a cross reference from a personal name to a business.  You will need to have the business name for us to complete this search.

How can I search an individual for a business owned?

There are alternative searches that you can complete with us that may show a connection between an individual and the business they operate.  We recommend completing a PPSA search or litigation search within the jurisdiction the person lives.
