Not For Profit Incorporation / Charitable Incorporation / Association Incorporation

Preliminary search – checking the business name you would like to use against existing businesses within the required Nuans databank.
Nuans report – this report is required when incorporating and provides a view to the government of any similar names to your proposed name
Preparation of the Articles – From the instructions you provide by filling in our easy to use online form, we complete the Articles of Incorporation for your review and acceptance
Filing of Articles with the Federal Government- our staff prepares the Articles and submits on your behalf. We are available for any questions with the Federal examiners regarding your file.
Completed Articles of Incorporation – When the Federal Examiner accepts your Articles, we email the documents to you so you may proceed to open a bank account and begin this business
Charitable organizations also are provided with forms to complete the charitable tax account with Revenue Canada.

Choosing a Name for Your Non-Profit Incorporation
The name you are choosing for your Not for Profit corporation must be distinctive, it must not be misleading or likely to be confused with name of other organizations or businesses and must also meet the requirements of the NFP (Not-for-profit) Act.
You can obtain a numbered name (Ex: 123456 CANADA CENTRE)
You can obtain a regular named corporation. (Ex: CANADA DANCE FOUNDATION)
You can obtain a bilingual name. (Ex: TORONTO COMMUNITY HOCKEY ASSOCIATION / ASSOCIATION DE HOCKEY COMMUNAUTAIRE DE TORONTO)
Words that are commonly used for not for profit corporations:
The only legal elements which are permitted for Federal Not-For-Profit corporations are ‘INCORPORATED’ or ‘INC’ & ‘CORPORATION’ or ‘CORP’.
Alternatively, you can select no legal ending.
Words that are not accepted for not for profit corporations:
Government connotation implied
Cooperative or any variation, if it connotes a cooperative venture
Parliament Hill or any variation
Royal Canadian Mounted Police or any variation
United Nations or any variation, if it connotes a relationship to the United Nations.
