An Ontario Profile Report (also called a Corporate Search) provides the full public record for any entity registered under the Ontario Business Corporations Act or Business Names Act. It includes: current status (Active, Dissolved, or Terminated), registered office address, directors and officers (names and addresses), incorporation date and activity history, and a list of all historical filings (Articles of Amendment, Annual Returns, Notices of Change, etc.).
In Ontario, Profile Reports show only the directors and officers, not the shareholders. Private corporation shareholder information is generally not part of the public record in Canada. If you need shareholder information, that typically requires the corporation's internal Minute Book records or a court order in litigation contexts.
Reports are pulled live from the Ontario Business Registry at the moment of your order. You receive the most up-to-date information currently on file with the Province of Ontario. The PDF includes a timestamp showing when the data was retrieved.
A Profile Report provides the full public record, directors, officers, registered office, status, and complete filing history. A Certificate of Status is a single-purpose document that confirms only whether a corporation is currently Active. For most due diligence purposes, you want the Profile Report. For banking or legal transactions confirming good standing, you may need both, they can be ordered together on the same form.
Yes. Ontario Business Central can pull Business Names Reports for Sole Proprietorships, General Partnerships, Trade Names, and Master Business Licences registered under the Business Names Act. The report contains the registered owner information and business details on file with the Province.
Yes. Ontario Business Central provides Profile Reports across all Canadian provinces and Federal corporations through Corporations Canada. Select your jurisdiction in the order form (Ontario, BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, Newfoundland and Labrador, or Federal). If you're unsure where a business is registered, our team can confirm and adjust the order.
The Profile Report will reflect the current legal name and will include a record of any previous legal names the corporation has operated under. This is useful when confirming whether two business names refer to the same legal entity, or when researching a company's history through corporate name changes.
Yes. Use the "Add Another Search" button on the order form to add multiple corporations to a single order. This is commonly used by law firms, accounting offices, and corporate due diligence teams. For 5 or more reports, contact our team for bulk pricing options. The Matter and Client File fields can be used by law firms for internal billing reference.
The standard Profile Report delivered electronically is the official Ministry document with the digital identifier — accepted by all major Canadian banks, law firms, lenders, and courts. This is the same document the Ministry would issue directly.
